Cranberry Sauce ala Josephine
Ingredients
- 12 oz bag fresh cranberrues , rinsed
- ½ C orange juice
- ½ C apple cider
- 1 t orange zest (optional)
- couple slices of orange
- 1 t ginger , grated
- 1 cinnamon stick
- sugar or natural sweetener, such as honey or agave nectar , to taste (optional)
- ground coriander (optional)
Instructions
- Make recipe a day before serving so the flavors have time to marry.
- Bring cranberries, orange juice, and apple cider to a boil. Reduce the heat to simmer, add a couple orange slices, a cinnamon stick, and 1 t grated ginger to the pot while the cranberries are simmering. Simmer about 20 minutes, or until they are a consistency that you like.
- Taste. Stir in orange zest if you want it to be more orangey, and add a bit of sugar if you want to add some sweetness. Add ground coriander if you like.
